OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Our commitment to great design has extended into making better business choices that minimise our impact on people and the planet. We’re focusing on these areas where we feel we can really make a difference. This is just the start of our journey, so keep checking back for updates.

REDUCE

  • Electricity – 69 kW Solar systems providing a total annual Co2 Reduction of 59.4 metric tonnes
  • Fuel – EV charging points available for customers and staff
  • Paper & Cardboard – Aiming for paperless in the offices
  • Freight – Reduced use of polystyrene and other fillers for freight, shredded cardboard used instead
  • Communications – 100% of customer communications are sent electronically
  • Advertising – Almost all the advertising is digital, not printed. So, our use of paper is minimal
  • Computers & Peripherals – Components replaced or upgraded (rather than new items purchased)

RECYCLE

  • We recycle 90%+ of packaging we receive from suppliers
  • All textile waste is sent to Upparel
  • All old/damaged wooden pallets sent to Smart Pallets for reuse/repurpose
  • All metal products recycled through Highett metals
  • All foam products returned and recycled into foam underlay for flooring
  • Any polystyrene gets sent to Casafico to be remade into building insulation
  • All hard plastics and polypropylene are recycled by Polymer Processors
  • All soft plastics separated by type and recycled by Olympic Polymers

REUSE

  • Kitchens – reusable crockery & cutlery. All food scraps are composted
  • Stock – Reusable or dead stock donated to charity
  • Freight – Cardboard packaging from our suppliers is used as filler & protection for our outgoing freight

RESPONSIBLE WOOD SOURCING


As some of our products are crafted from wood. We’re committed to ensuring we use timber sourced from responsibly managed forests.

Why? To avoid contributing to deforestation. 

How? By tracing our timber back to forest level and selecting well-managed routes/sources. All our timber comes from sustainable sources, which includes traceable timber, recycled timber or timber from sources certified as being responsibly managed.
